Good Hatch Green Chile

I ordered some Frozen Roasted Hatch Green Chile from High Mesa Chile and it was pretty good. It got to me in about 4 days, which was faster than I thought. Made some enchiladas with it last night and everyone liked them. Will probably buy again.

Detailed review of my first order

I decided to try High Mesa Chile after hearing good things about their authentic products. I ordered a Chile Sampler Pack and a jar of their Red Chile Sauce. The ordering process on the website was straightforward and I got a confirmation email right away. Shipping took about 6 business days to reach my home in Ohio. Everything arrived well-packed, no damage or leaks. The sampler pack had a good variety, and I particularly liked the Ancho and Guajillo chiles for my mole sauce. The Red Chile Sauce was flavorful, a good medium heat, but maybe a touch thinner than I usually make myself. Customer service wasn't needed, so I can't comment there. Overall, I was satisfied with the quality of the products and the ease of the entire transaction from browsing to delivery. It gave me a good feel for their different offerings.

Decent chile, could improve shipping

I purchased a couple pounds of their Ground Red Chile Powder. The quality was good, definitely authentic New Mexico flavor. It blended well into my sauce. My only slight issue was that the shipping took a full week to get to me in Texas, which felt a bit long for an in-state order. The packaging was fine, though. Overall, I'd say it's a solid product for the price.

Good value on sale

I was looking for some good quality chile but didn't want to overspend. I got the Frozen Roasted Chile during their seasonal harvest sale, and it was a great deal. The first order discount helped too. Felt like I got a lot for my money, and the chile was really tasty. Glad I waited for a sale.

Anyone know if their 'Hatch Green Chile' is actually from Hatch? Some places just say 'Hatch style' and it's not the real deal.

I Ian Lee 1 day ago
From what I understand, yeah it's the authentic stuff. They seem pretty serious about being from New Mexico, so I'd trust it.

My understanding is that they source directly from Hatch Valley farms. It's the real deal, not just 'Hatch flavored'.

Hey, thinking about ordering some of that frozen green chile. Does it actually ship okay to like, Florida? Worried it'll just thaw out.

S Susan T. 6 days ago
Yeah, they ship frozen stuff. Used them before, everything arrived still frozen solid for me in Texas. They pack it well.

I'm in Georgia and got frozen roasted chile from them. It was still cold, not totally solid maybe but definitely not thawed. Just pop it right in the freezer when it gets there.

Are there any discounts for first-time buyers? Thinking of trying them out but want to save a few bucks if possible.

A Amanda R. 4 weeks ago
Pretty sure if you sign up for their newsletter you get a code for your first purchase. I did that.

Yep, newsletter signup usually gets you a little something off your first order, like 10 or 15% sometimes.

What's the typical shipping time like to say, California? Need to plan out when to order if I want it for a specific recipe.

K Kevin A. 2 weeks ago
Mine took about 4-5 days to get to SoCal. Not super fast but not bad.

I got my last order in about a week. It varies a bit, but usually pretty quick for me in the Bay Area.

Can you stack coupon codes at checkout? Got a loyalty reward thing and saw a sale code, wonder if both would work.

H Hannah Scott 1 week ago
Nah, pretty sure you can only use one code at a time. I tried to combine two once and it only took one.

Most places don't let you stack codes, and I've never had luck with it here either. Usually just one per order.
